Streams in the Desert is an original (vocal & instrumental) composition based on Isaiah 35:4-6. The instrumental accompaniment is provided by the q chord. The song was written as a bit of a challenge--Community Christian Church in Tempe, Arizona, was having worship services related to various Arizona themes, and the theme was obviously that of "streams in the desert". Ironically, it was written just 1 day prior to the attacks of 9/11. I sang it to my dad during his final hours. I have no idea whether or not he heard.

Gift of the weeds is an original composition based on the Mexican legend of the poinsettia. It is the story of a small child, who, through adversity, learns the power of transforming faith, first from her aging grandmother & then on her own as the humble gift she gives the Christ Child in love is changed miraculously before her eyes into a thing of beauty.
